Frequently asked questions
How do I clean my Memory Mat day-to-day?
Give it a regular vacuum to lift loose dirt and sand. Routine vacuuming helps keep the surface looking fresh and reduces discolouration from foot traffic.
Are the mats stain-proof?
They’re water- and stain-resistant, not stain-proof. With everyday use, some surface darkening can occur over time—regular care helps slow this.
What should I do if there’s a spill?
Act quickly. Blot liquids from the top before they soak in. For thicker foods, lift off as much as you can without pushing it into the pile. If a mark remains, gently wipe with warm, soapy water, then finish with a clean dry cloth to remove any residue.
How do I dry the mat after cleaning?
Choose a warm, clear day if you can. Allow plenty of airflow indoors or place the mat outside in the sun for a short period so it dries right through before bringing it back in.
Can I wet-vacuum or use a carpet-cleaning machine?
Yes—occasional wet-vac/steam-clean can freshen the mat and tackle stubborn traffic marks. Do this in fine weather so the mat can dry completely in the sun before use.
Can I put my Memory Mat in the washing machine?
No. Domestic or commercial washing machines aren’t recommended and may damage the mat. For heavier cleaning, stick with wet-vac/carpet cleaning plus an appropriate carpet shampoo.
Is the Memory Mat non-toxic and safe for kids?
The inner is premium PE foam, and the face is low-pile flannel polyester (that’s the comfy bit your skin touches). Our mats are independently tested to AS/NZS ISO 8124 Parts 1–3 (mechanical, flammability and heavy metals) with pass results. Want to see the report? Get in touch and we’ll share it.
My new mat arrived with creases—what should I expect?
Totally normal. The foam needs time to decompress after being folded/rolled for shipping. Allow 24–48 hours (a little longer in cooler weather). Lightly rubbing along the crease lines—or simply letting the kids roll and play—helps. Warm sunshine speeds it up; just keep the mat dry.
The edges don’t look perfectly straight—will that settle?
Yes. A slight curve can appear along fold lines at first. The mats are cut true; once the foam relaxes over 2–3 days, the edges naturally straighten. You can gently push/pull the mat into shape—don’t worry, you won’t hurt it.
How can I prevent long-term discolouration?
Vacuum regularly, wipe up spills promptly, and give the mat an occasional wet-vac refresh. Rotating its position in high-traffic rooms can also help even out wear.
Any quick tips for best results?
Blot—don’t scrub—spills. Rinse away soap, then dry thoroughly. Choose warm, dry weather for deeper cleans. And keep the mat fully dry before returning it indoors.
It’s been a week and something still seems off—what now?
We’re here to help. Reach out with photos and details; customer satisfaction and product quality are our top priorities.
Can I pack the mat away when not in use?
Absolutely. It’s lightweight enough to roll or fold and secure with the included elastic strap. Store it flat or tucked neatly under a sofa until you’re ready to use it again.
